New patients
Your first visit, without the nerves.
A lot of people put off the dentist because they’re not sure what to expect. Here’s everything you need to know before your first appointment with us.

Welcome. Whether it’s been six months or several years since your last visit, you’re in good hands. Our team takes the time to understand what you want and explains everything as we go, so there are no surprises and no pressure.
What to bring
- Your Medicare card (and your child’s, for CDBS)
- Your private health insurance card, if you have extras cover
- A list of any medications you’re currently taking
- Details of your previous dentist or any recent dental records, if you have them
What to expect on your first visit
- A relaxed chat first. We talk through your history, any concerns, and what you’d like from your visit, before anything else.
- A thorough examination. A careful check of your teeth and gums, with X-rays only if they’re needed.
- Clear options and costs. If anything needs attention, we explain the choices and give you a written quote. No pressure to decide on the spot.
- A plan that suits you. Together we agree on next steps and a timeline that works for your life and budget.
Insurance and payment
We process most private health fund claims on the spot through HICAPS, so you only pay any gap. Children may be eligible for bulk billing under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. For a guide to fees, health funds and payment options, see our fees & payment page.
Accessibility
Ground-floor access with no steps, a wheelchair-accessible bathroom, and a hearing loop at reception.
If you feel nervous about the dentist
You’re not alone, and it’s completely understandable. Let us know when you book or when you arrive, and we’ll take things gently and at your pace, explaining each step and pausing whenever you need to. Our aim is to make the visit as comfortable and unhurried as possible.
